Kubernetes is a platform for building platforms and is often used to provide an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) that eliminates operational complexities and provides secure self-service “golden paths” for developers. In this session, Ritesh and David will Introduce the BACK stack, a composable IDP using four widely adopted CNCF projects: Backstage (B): A self-service portal to empower developers. Argo CD (A): A GitOps-based continuous delivery (CD) tool for streamlined software delivery. Crossplane (C): A universal control plane simplifying self-service infrastructure provisioning through abstractions. Kyverno (K): A Policy as Code (PaC) tool to proactively detect and prevent misconfigurations. They will delve into the technical requirements necessary to establish an effective IDP and demonstrate how combining these projects results in a powerful, open, and extensible platform, enabling developers while ensuring consistency and reliability.
